5 Day Golf and Sightseeing Tour of Marlborough and Nelson
Explore and play on four of the well-known golf courses in our top of the south island region with the added adventure of travelling through high country stations with bush clad mountains, tussock valleys and remote lakes and rivers. Stay in diverse towns, Nelson City (Art Centre of New Zealand), Hanmer Springs Thermal Resort, Kaikoura Coastal Maritime Whale Watch Tourist Centre, Blenheim (the largest Wine Region of New Zealand). We have chosen quality accommodation and restaurants that offer local wines and cuisine.
Itinerary
Day 1
Fly to Nelson in the morning (arrange your own flight). Airport pick-up and delivery to accommodation at Trailways Motor Inn (a two minute walk to the Nelson town centre).
Afternoon - a round of golf at Greenfields Golf Course, located on a coastal pennisular. Evening meal at Trailways Motor Inn.
Day 2
Travel from Nelson to Hanmer Springs through the High Country of Rainbow and Molesworth Stations, stopping at points of interest and enjoying a picnic lunch on the banks of a mountain stream.
Arrive in Hanmer Springs for a relaxing swim in the famous Hot Pools, shopping or walking some of the local forest walks. At night, a meal at the Laurels Restaurant with quality cuisine, wine and great hospitality.
Day 3
A round of golf at the Hanmer Springs Golf Course in the morning. In the afternoon we travel to Kaikoura, two hours away, travelling through the Old Inland Kaikoura Route.
A nights stay at the White Morph on the coast with a 5 minute walk to the town centre. Evening meal is at The Tides Restaurant with crayfish being a favourite menu choice
Day 4
A morning round of golf at the Kaikoura Golf Course. In the afternoon we travel to Blenheim via the picturesque Kaikoura coastline. We have a late lunch at The Store in Kekerungu, a restaurant located on the coast with a stunning Pacific coastal vista.
Arrive in Blenheim at Centre Court Motels located within a two minute walk from shops, restaurants and cafes. An evening meal in a top restaurant will end an eventful day.
Day 5
A morning round of golf at the Fairhall Golf Course. In the afternoon, lunch at a local winery followed by a Marlborough Wine Trail by our experienced host-driver. Again staying in Blenheim at Centre Court.
This will end a diverse experience, a golfing tour with a difference. We have over 18 years experience in tourism.
